Are More Harry Potter Spin-Offs On The Way?

Saturday, September 28, 2013

It was recently revealed by both Warner Bros and JK Rowling that the famed author will be screenwriting an adaptation to the fictional Harry Potter textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them and its writer Newt Scamander. This new series will lead from New York City during the Jazz Age and supposedly set off in the adventures with Scamander and the mysterious wondrous creatures he finds.

There has been no official word on how many films will be featured in this new spin-off franchise about the wizarding world, however rumors come to light that there may be more films on the way outside of Scamander.

According to BleedingCool.com: Warner Bros has gone on a copyrighting spree for the fellow Harry Potter titles:
  • Tales of Beedle The Bard
  • Quidditch Through the Ages
  • The Quiddidtch teams Wimbourne Wasps, Chudley Cannons, and Kenmare Kestrels.
  • Quiddidtch expert and Quiddidtch Through the Ages author Kennilworthy Whisp
These copyrights have been made in various properties from animated series, live-action or animated films, video games, publication of books, and much more.

No confirmation or verification has been made by Warner Bros or JK Rowling about this surprising new development, but could these copyrights very well lead to more spin-offs either for television or the big screen? Only time will tell!

  1. I hope HP never ends. As long as JK Rowling is involved, it will be amazing!
