Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Midnight Release Party

The world once again came alive with magic as bookstores and libraries around the globe readied for the eighth story!

J.K. Rowling in collaboration with Jack Thorne and John Tiffany continued the Harry Potter journey on the West End with a wondrous play focusing on the next generation Albus Severus Potter and the relationship with his dad Harry.

A special rehearsal edition kicked off both Rowling and Potter's birthday as the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child script was officially published.

In covering GeekyCon, a yearly convention celebrating all things fandom and geeky, at their midnight release party, we rang in the next era of Potter's journey with games, Quidditch and entertainment.

Lauren Fairweather is a prominent wizard rock The Moaning Myrtles and an entertainer of all things geek and Potter on YouTube.

Fans (who hadn't read the spoilers) were invited to write their predictions of what might take place in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Readers joined in a game of Wizard Chess while the pitch was set for a round of Quidditch. Who will catch the Golden Snitch?
