Universal Orlando Resort Celebrates Grand Opening for Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure

Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure Opening
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is ushering a new addition at Universal Orlando Resort this week. Two days ahead of its official grand opening to guests on June 13th, 2019, the popular Florida theme park celebrated their highly-anticipated new attraction.

Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is expected to be a thrilling and immersive coaster unlike anything Universal Orlando Resort has created before. The new ride is the longest coaster in Florida and brings the beloved Hagrid and his animal companions to life with imaginative and unbelievable technology.

To kick-off the ride's official opening, Universal Orlando Resort livestreamed a special ceremony on their social media channels on Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube.



The opening ceremony kicked off with Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Universal Parks & Resorts Tom Williams giving a special thanks to the guests who were in attendance such as J.K. Rowling's literary agency representive Adam Reed and Orlando's Mayor John Dyer. He said that there are three ingredients that make a theme park land special and they were a great environment, characters, and story. He promised that Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure had all three in aces.

From there our host for the evening, Gemma, welcomed Evanna Lynch and Warwick Davis to the stage. They gave a hearty hello before realizing that more of their party was missing.

Actors Rupert Grint and Tom Felton drove into the opening ceremony with a familiar vehicle: the Weasleys Flying Ford Anglia. Not sure how Lucius Malfoy would feel about that!

The foursome with Gemma welcomed a special message from Robbie Coltrane who couldn't attend the event in person. He briefly described the ride and what lies ahead for those who explore the Forbidden Forest with the help of Hagrid.

Before the cast could open the ride, there was one thing missing: Hagrid's motorbike. It's a good thing James and Oliver Phelps were there to ride it into the ceremony. The vehicle car for Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is the motorcycle, where guests can choose to sit in the driver's seat or sidecar.

Wands in hand, the cast removed some of the boxes that were blocking the entrance to the attraction's queue line by casting Wingardium Leviosa. Robbie Coltrane reappeared on the screen to welcome everyone to the ride's official opening for the evening. Guests who were attending in person were invited to explore all of Hogsmeade's restaurants and rides as well as the new attraction.

In case you missed it: earlier in the day the Harry Potter cast - Tom Felton, Evanna Lynch, Rupert Grint, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, and Warwick Davis - were on hand throughout to talk with the media and explore the parks. They shared all the fun they've been experiencing across Instagram.
