Open at the Close Event Photos at Universal Studios Orlando

For the second year in a row, GeekyCon has graced the presence of sunny Orlando. Kicking off the four day convention, attendees had private access through a special event at Universal Studios Florida.

Hardcore Harry Potter lovers had free reign to explore Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley after-hours. Since returning to this con from last year, my sister and I took full advantage of the aptly title: Open at the Close. Here are some of the photographs I collected over the evening, where we downed Butterbeer, enjoyed ice cream, and shopped like we had a limitless supply of galleons (but not really).

We were treated to performances by Wizarding Academy of Dramatic Arts with a Tale of the Three Brothers as well as a musical concert by Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees.

I may be a Gryffindor but that didn't stop me from getting my Malfoy on with a replica hat at Madame Malkins.

Darkness terrorized Knockturn Alley as we found the entrance to Borgin and Burke. Truly, it is one terrifying place. Good thing my sister is a Slytherin and helped me gain passage.

We welcomed Maximus to our wizarding family, after my sister's dream of finally adopting a pygmy puff came true.

After spending half of the evening in Diagon Alley, we caught the Hogwarts Express over to Hogsmeade enjoying Butterbeer along the way.

Stopped by for some sugary sweets at Honeydukes. My teeth will surely feel the buzz over the weekend.

Who could ever forget a sight and magical memory like this?
