A Celebration of Harry Potter 2016 Universal Orlando Part 1

Universal Studios Florida held its A Celebration of Harry Potter 2016 event this past January. Like last year's event, I was lucky enough to be able to attend! The expo included a brand new 'tour' filled with great merchandise, new booths, and film props designed by Mina Lima.

This post marks as part one of three to my adventures - the next will include more photos of merchandise (including a giant Hogwarts castle made out of Legos) and photos a special walk through of the Warner Bros Studio Tour, pictures of the cast Q&A.

Several different booths from various walks of the Harry Potter universe were on display. Guests could pick and choose which ones to visit. One included an announcement of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play.

Scholastic invited fans to write on the Muggle Wall (?) what Harry Potter means to us. This booth is one of the most anticipated ones of the year. It's a great sea of expression for how much fans love the series.

Pottermore showcased a floor-to-ceiling map of wizarding schools around the world. Guests could use their phone to activate information about the new schools.

The graphic designers from the Harry Potter films had their own booth. It was so colorful and beautifully designed as always.

Hogwarts letters hung from the ceiling!

Behind a two large display cases, their props designed for the films were showcased for everyone to see. So much attention to detail went into every single item. Certain books had wear and tear to them. The fonts were all unique, colorful and bold. There wasn't a limit to the amount of material they created for the films - even textbooks that weren't major props used by characters were included. And there was the massively memorable books like The Daily Prophet, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, a howler. It was so cool to actually see these in person.

There's so much more where this came from. I'll be sharing more props and features shown at the expo, as well as photos from the cast panel. Hope you enjoyed!
