Emma Watson, Kerry Washington Encourage Women to LeanIn Together

Emma Watson first became a UN Goodwill Ambassador in July 2014. Since that momentous occasion, the empowering star launched HeForShe, interviewed fellow inspiring figures Malala Yousafzai and Lin-Manuel Miranda, and connects with fellow advocates via a monthly book club Our Shared Shelf.

Now Emma, alongside Kerry Washington, Eva Longoria, Serena Williams, and more are encouraging women to Lean In Together - be a mentor, support our peers, and connect with workplace allies.

The program LeanIn.Org is a nonprofit founded by Sheryl Sandberg to empower all women to achieve their ambitions.

In the minute and a half video above, the actresses thank the women in their lives that helped them achieve greatness in the workplace. The video rallies hopes that together women can support each other's voices and work to achieve equality.

Emma's personal shout-out is to director Sofia Coppola of The Bling Ring, which was one of Emma's first roles outside of the Harry Potter franchise.

Amazing things can happen when women join together in each other's goals and journeys, instead of behaving as rivals. Behind every successful woman is another successful woman. It is our peers who make us ambitious, courageous, guidance, and opportunities for life.
When a woman helps another woman, they both benefit. And when women celebrate one another’s accomplishments, we’re all lifted up. Together women can do more, go further, and change the world. Let’s #LeanInTogether.

Resources such as books, connecting with other women, and finding inspiration can be accessed at the official website LeanIn.Org. The movement can also be supported additionally via #LeanInTogether.
