Pottermore Publishing and Audible Announce Full-Cast Harry Potter Audiobooks for 2025 Release

Pottermore Publishing in collaboration with Audible has revealed plans to release all seven Harry Potter books as full-cast ensemble audiobooks, beginning in late 2025. This initiative represents a significant departure from the existing audiobooks, which feature solo narrations by Jim Dale and Stephen Fry.

According to Pottermore Publishing, the new audiobooks will feature over a hundred voice actors to portray the diverse cast of characters from the Harry Potter series. These productions aim to offer a more layered and dynamic listening experience by utilizing a wide range of voice talent.

Neil Blair, Chairman of Pottermore Publishing, highlighted the ambitious nature of the project. “Our collaboration with Audible aims to transform the Harry Potter series into a sophisticated, immersive audio experience. The new technology and audio enhancements are designed to bring a fresh dimension to J.K. Rowling’s stories, appealing to both existing fans and new listeners,” he explained.

Each of the seven audiobooks will be released sequentially and will include advanced sound design, Dolby Atmos, and an original score to enhance the listening experience. These features are intended to make the magical and mundane elements of the wizarding world more vivid for the audience.

These full-cast versions will be available exclusively on Audible, adding to its extensive collection of family-friendly audio content. The first audiobook scheduled for release is “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s/Sorcerer’s Stone,” with subsequent titles to follow into early 2026.

The existing audiobooks narrated by Stephen Fry and Jim Dale, which have been extensively popular on Audible, will continue to be available alongside the new full-cast recordings. This will provide listeners with multiple formats to experience the Harry Potter series.
